Fellow Captains,
It's with great pleasure that I find you all back here (after being away from Subsim for quite some time now). To keep it short - I just started playing SH5 (after having played SH3 for 3 years, and SH4 for 2 years and after being away from Subsim for about 2 years) - and I'm already kind of lost. I've browsed and read the forum for the last couple of days trying to get up to date with everything, but I must say that it was much easier for me at least to find my mods for earlier versions of game. I've also played vanilla SH5 (updated to the last version 1.2) for some hours and I jumped urgently on the forum because there are certainly some major glitches in the stock version. I do not mean and disrespect for those of you who invest so much in modding, but myself I hardly find a couple of hours every now and then to play, therefore testings myself all the mods is unfortunately out of the question, I'd like to skip some steps with your kind help. Therefore - my hope is that after I will let you know what I am searching for and what my "skipper profile" is, maybe you will be able to point me in the right direction. I'm no hardcore player, but I appreciate very much the followings: - realistic damage for all parties involved - realistic sensors, batteries, reloading times, ranges, speeds, CO2, fuel, food (that would be a nice addition to the game) - realistic ships, flags - all eye candies possible (related to everything - if somebody drew a nice naked chick to hang on the wood paneling - I want it) - realistic and as rich as possible crew management and interaction - I need to be able to use the external camera - and this is mainly because I want to know what I paid for and enjoy the graphics, not to cheat. I actually have not cheated with the ext. camera since SH3 ![]() Now - what I do not like to do ![]() - I always rely on my crew to calculate the firing solutions, so my torpedo officer is my best friend, I do not even try to understand how that machine works (I know a thing or two obviously, but I like to enjoy the view mostly) Please feel free to hit my with your comments. You'll want to patch your files with my generic patcher to cure almost all the stock bugs in the game. That should be the first thing you do.

TheDarkWraith, thanks for your suggestion. This is exactly what I did. I've been experimenting with the following soup, and I can say that except for some commands in Magui that are not working - it works smooth, but it's premature to say I am satisfied.
