I've definately seen most of that footage before in B&W. I'm not sure what to think about this sort of thing. In some ways I'd prefer them to leave the footage stock rather than try to colour it, but then I also quite like seeing some of the stuff in colour because it gives it a bit more accessability to modern eyes.

I am pretty sure that some of the footage is from the 1941 film "U-boote westwärts!", especially the dive cam scenes.
Good find nonetheless, I think that they did a good job in recolering the material. PS: I did not know that boats have an ideology ![]() |
