Super nice. Strange thing is that i have the feeling i have seen some of these images in B&W? True?

TarJak 05-25-11 03:16 AM

I've definately seen most of that footage before in B&W. I'm not sure what to think about this sort of thing. In some ways I'd prefer them to leave the footage stock rather than try to colour it, but then I also quite like seeing some of the stuff in colour because it gives it a bit more accessability to modern eyes.

I am pretty sure that some of the footage is from the 1941 film "U-boote westwärts!", especially the dive cam scenes.
Good find nonetheless, I think that they did a good job in recolering the material.

PS: I did not know that boats have an ideology ;)

Good find, I watched one of the videos on the right showing Russian soldiers with their dogs used as canine grenades, packed with explosives on their backs one runs off to its target....Boom!. Poor dogs they looked really excited little do they know they're about to become mincemeat.
