Hi Guys,
Firstly I would like to thank all the people who have contributed their mods freely. Without the kind of co-operation and Hi Quality Modding I have witnessed on subsim Sh5 would "in my opinion" would have been a disapointment. Thanks to the modding community for adding the finishing touches. I would like to share an idea I had in the hope that somebody with the skills I unfortunatly lack will be able to transform this idea into a working mod. Ive noticed there are all these brilliant effects generated when receiving dammage , like equipment sparking , lighys blowing , flooding , shaking and the like. But they seem to be prity rare. My experience seems to have been that if you experience any of these effects the next moment your dead. My idea for a mod is to have all these effects should be triggered at a much earlier stage. From what ive seen in doccos is that being on the receiving end of a depth charge attack was a terrifying event even when they were not that close , it should seem like a living hell even when your boat doesnt receive fatal dammage. Anyway I think you get my idea. I would love to hear other peoples opinion on this topic and allso if anybody has any ideas on how to implement this idea. It would be great to see a depth charge attack that was realy something with Lots of noise , controll room equipment exploding and shaking violently with water squirting through leaks ect and still be able to survive. That was awsome , was the guy yelling Wasser Bomb ingame or did

hello

I think that your mod idea is really needed, Stew!
I managed to add the Wasserbomben-audio (with critical help from Stormfly ![]() But still I agree that depth charge attacks could be even more powerful. Now you basicly start to suffer when DC hits you. The boat should shake even if the DC explodes nearby, like the loading text says: depth charge attacks were nerve wrecking, even if they didn't cause any damage. I would really like to see blinking lights and more shaking and ofcourse some reactions from the crew (now they just sigh and scrath their heads like they couldn't care less). |
