Default And here I thought the GTX 480 would be on top for along time...

Then I go to look for new driver and find They made the 580... sigh.

Hmm, well the core, and shaders are pretty close to my 480. Though the 480 has better rateings, Im guessing it probably has cooling problems, and power consumption worse than the 480 though.

Oah well, guess the new 500s are just in time for my major overhual next year(or maby Ill just get a second 480).

experience tells me that the speed that new video card are being put on the market is increasing
BTW, i'm really sick of the renaming game
8800gs turns into a 9600gso...
the 580 is just a 480 on steroids. i think that its cheating. 5s and 4s should be a generation apart

Yea, I could probably get my 480 to the same specs, but I will get better cooling first.

The only difference is that the 500 is "full" Fermi. All the 400 cards have part of the core disabled to increase yields.

Don't bother if you have a 400.

Aw, and there was me going to offer him $20 for his 480 if he upgraded to 580... it is after all, I believe, the going rate?

He'll probably upgrade anyway.
