Recently, the number of people viewing SH5 main and mod forums have been roughly the same as those viewing the similar forums for SH4. On top of that, the price for SHV is around $16-17 on Amazon and is around $12 for SH4 gold edition. My suspicion is that the glitz surrounding SH5 is over.

I'm still having plenty of fun with SH4, and I really don't want to deal with Ubisoft's DRM. This was reinforced recently when my modem failed. Had I been playing SHV, I would have been unable to play during that time. Especially bad given most of my other games are of the online sort, and thus I'd have had very limited options for relaxing on my PC with my internet down.

I'll give SH 5 try when its patched with DRM gone, has more time for a supermod of sorts to maybe debut and if its possible, a PTO mod for SH 5, like how OM for SH 4 lets you use U boats in the ATO.I prefer PTO and SH 4 still has its best days ahead with some of the great work that is still going on such as the IJN campaign, the WW I mod, upgrades to TMO and RFB, refinement of the radar mod and 3d TDC, Captain America's interior for fleetboats and so on.RSRD needs some new upgrades also but still great mod.
Not knocking SH 5 but I asked for honest opinions in the forum and while I got a fewgood reviews with the mods in the forum, I had several PM's from people saying "save your money". I would give SH 5 a try even now but DRM is my hold up.I have a great internet connection, just hate the idea and dont want to deal with that. |

Like most I'll wait. SH4 is easier to mod and the modders just keep putting out good stuff. I'll trade the eyecandy for realistic gameplay anytime.

Just got SH4 Gold yesterday so I'm busy with the new material and mods that can come with it.
I won't be getting SH5 until/if they get rid of DRM. |

If that's true then why aren't you playing AOtD and SH1?
![]() But seriously, folks...SH4 is a marvel. It still needs some improvement, but what it has so far makes it well worth playing. ![]()
