How many have the game but don't...

play it for one reason or another?

I have it but can't play it on my machine. From what I've read I'm not missing anything but frustration. So how many have been frustrated enough to drop the game until one or more things are fixed?

Turn the shadows off and see if it becomes playable. Understanding that the control room and sonar/captains bed area are the worst for FPS.

I turned everything off, my video card is an Nvidia of the 700 series and only 256. When they say at least 512 they aint kidding.

Looks like the majority so far are dry docking their uboats. I'm glad to see some are enjoying it, maybe Ubi will fix it for their faithfully overlooking the arcadish aspects. Nobody shooting back or hunting you down reminds me of the penny arcade sub game machine. Had the preriscope and the ships running in a line on the horizon. A fired torpedo was represented by a red light running under the surface of the water. No counter sub measures to worry about, just point and shoot.

I wonder if Ubi has a counter/tracker to maintain a record of how often each registered game is played? Sort of like a web site counter.
Or maybe they don't give a rat's pituitary gland one way or another.

That or are the ones that are playing it are doing just that, instead of perusing the forums

Me, I am killing time waiting for my dentist appointment.

I'll correct myself, the majority responding to this thread.

I'll respond to this point, but nothing else, as the original question was:

Quote:

I don't fall into that category, so I didn't feel I had any reason to post in the thread. I think that many others may have felt the same. If you posted a thread that asked 'How many have bought the game and are still playing it', then that's a thread I could give an on topic answer to.

Ask for reasons why people aren't playing the game and that's what the majority of replies will be. I don't think you can draw any solid conclusions from that, other than people are answering the question in the original post.

I haven't been playing it that much. I got a couple other new games near the same time that were more finished as well as a new mod for rFactor that is taking up most of my gaming time.

With other games I would probably make time but SH games have always been better after they age a bit

I have the Game.
It is installed on my system
(Which can't run it)
And my Stepson's system
(Which I can't get him off of without a big stick!)

I'm more interested in Modding it anyway.
So my system will work for what I want to do.

I got the Game with a Gift certificate from a member here at SubSim.
I didn't want the Gift and actually deleted it.
But he re-sent it.

Now I'm glad he did.
I see a BIG future with this release!

FPS are fine for me, almost in every situation (more than 60 in the control room, ati hd4870, no vsync). I just don't play the game because i'm waiting for the next patch.

I'm slowly becoming bored with it. It works fine with the mods (that sentence is there to try to put off the trolls) but without any real threat from the AI , without a variety of targets to sink its fast becoming tedious.

Me. I'm not playing this until the last patch has been implemented (I'm dead serious). At the moment SH5 just doesn't exist for me... Oh and also my PC is crap at the moment and I will require little under a year or so until I get funds for upgrading.

I have 30 mods installed in running, my game is almost as good as GWX SH3:P

If only i had a realistic campaign and neutral shipping, i would be all set.

The AI needs to be corrected but I agree with Reaperman; if you have the right mods installed the game is very playable now, with the AI fix it would be much more challenging however.

I'm waiting on the patch.

Somewhat off topic, anyone notice that STEAM US's highest rated simulation is SHIII?
