I was DCed and evenually dove to a depth of 600'.
My Depth dial only goes to 450 or so. Is there a mod or DL for better dials for SH4 v1.5, TMO 1.9? |

I think that would add to the realism. You shouldn't go much bellow 450' even in a Balao class. If I recall corectly, I believe about 500' was the deepest recorded depth. I'm suprised you survived at 600', wow!

Razark, I'm not saying that a Balao could not reach that depth.
I don't trust wikipedia, sorry! Anyone can say anything in there. As for the other "The Deep Dive of the USS CHOPPER (SS 342)", that was in 1969 not 1942-45, ![]()

Since this topic has been revived it got me thinking if I could find any photo's of a real ww2 American submarine's gauges. I did some searching and found this.
Warning! Large picture! http://thestandardedition.files.word...3/img_1543.jpg I think the one on the top left would be the depth gauge since it has that red hand at 300. Probably test depth. It's only marked to 400 but it should be able to keep spinning around until it couldn't take the pressure and it explodes. Edit: Here's a smaller pic ![]()

I would guess that 450' was the max setting marked on a depth gauge on an American sub.
