Default Farewell My Friend

My father passed away earlier today after a short illness.

It is not unusual that I remain active on the internet during the day of his passing because I know he took great pride in what he did for the war effort during the great conflict we call WWII.

He was always happy when I'd visit him and explain some of the respectful threads this community often posted for those of his generation.

He was especially pleased at the interest my friends here (and in particular Sailor Steve) took in his efforts during the period.

My father was never a boastful person but he always appreciated those of the post WWII generation who gave recognition to those who gave their all to ensure a safe world for the future.

I would ask that nobody mourns his loss but rather that they remember him and his kind for the sacrifices and risks they made for all of us.

James Cook Musgrove 10-09-23...86 years young.

This is not goodbye dad...simply till we meet again.

Love
Jimmy

Always sad, when someone close to us dissapears from the surface of the earth, but it's the destiny for all of us. At least, he had a long and - hopefully - good life.

My condolences.

My deepest condolences, Jim. What a loss this short before Christmas. I´d recommend to take a shore leave. Everybody would understand, I reckon.

With sympathies,
DD

I see a spark in his eyes that you don't see in many.

A salute, and a promise to never forget.

Default Gone, but now ever-present

The answers to all the questions are now known. All the whys and why nots are known. No distance between nor time. More a part of you than ever.
More at peace than ever.

Condolences.

The greatest peace, in my opinion, is when you see your loved one once again in the after life.
