got lucky this time... of course it was only "23 feet across and wouldnt have dented the surface [of the earth]"

Meh, these types of asteroids fly closely a few times per year, IIRC.

But hey - if it had actually hit, it would have been Bush's fault!

Also the composition of the asteroid.

Some are just like a big foamy brick, kind of like lava rock. Not much substance and kind of light.

Others are quite dense indeed like solid nickle or iron.
