Default Nav map lag

Another question I couldn't find the answer to, I'm afraid.

Is nav map lag at high TC normal? I have a very decent computer - Core2Duo, a couple gigs of memory, and the 8800 gts GPU -- and this behavior just doesn't seem right.

Has anyone else dealt with this issue?

The game lags when you have a lot of ships around, e.g. near a convoy or a port. It can also lag if you have a lot of items drawn on a nav map, especially a lot of lines.

Other than that, the game shouldn't lag on your rig.

Yes, if you go on high tc and, lets say an convoy, comes within some 20-30km range the map will, may, start lagging. Giving you an early warning so to speak. Better drop out of tc when it start lagging It can also be an enemy aircraft already diving to drop it´s bombs on you

Ok, thanks guys! It's pretty annoying but I can live with it. =)

And oh...yeah. Dive bombers kinda suck when they move on your position at 1024 times their real world velocity. Been there done THAT.

As previously pointed out....turn the negative into a positive, drop tc at the first hint because there is almost definitely something within hydrophone range.

That's good advice. Ty! The only time the lag is really bothersome is when leaving port. I have the Lite Port Traffic mod enabled, but other than that I am not sure how to better deal with the problem.
