Default Sound Advice

Hi,

I have a problem and I hope some one here can help.

I wear hearing aids in both ears.

I use headphones with my PC. I can't use my hearing aids with the 'phones as this causes feedback problems.

Without the hearing aids I can't hear much even with the PC volumn at 100%.

My sound card is a Creative Labs Sound Blaster 16 Pro.

My question is this; is there any thing I can do to increase the volumn of the sound output, a new sound card for instamce or some form of amplifier?

I would venture to guess that you would need to have your sound card feed via RCA jack to a stereo amplifier. Let the stereo amplifier provide the volume control. In other words, your card can only produce so much volume before, distortion or it is just not loud enough for you to hear. I'm not sure if your card has the ability to connect to a stereo amplifier. I suspect it can with the right jacks to connect the two. So, let the card produce the sounds but feed to an outside stereo source to actually handle the volume required for you to hear.

Here are some links to headphone amplifiers:

The headphones I use ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16826502008 ) have a seperate amplifier built in. They can get quite loud and, being surround sound, they are very nice for gaming.

Nice links DT. Those look like a good solution.

Google is my bestest friend Jeez, I need to get a life:rotfl:

Seriously, I love my surround sound headset and it's in the same price range as most of those amplifiers. One warning, though, it's a little on the heavy side.
