I have no idea what the problem is...I need help

I have three problems that i havent found answers to, they are in order of least to greatest.
1. every time I load a saved game the crewmen tell me that "we are taking damage", then "hull damaged" and then "all stop". it is really irritating
2. sometimes i will randomely blow up. i know this could be mines but it is not. for example, if i am at periscope depth, things are fine but if i go any deeper than that, i will blow up every time. it is a completely random thing that i have not found a pattern in. the only pattern is blowing up everytime.
3. i am currently in a mission to patrol of the Palau islands, i have done this for a really long time. i have returned to a port to refit about 4 times, sunk 42 merchant ships, 19 warships for a total tonage of 220469. and it still will not let me complete my objective. there is some glitch or problem that wont recognize my completion of the mission.
i have all current patches installed and am out of ideas. i would appreciate any help you all may have.
thanks

If you recieved damage prior to the save you will get the dammage message each time. All stop is the default upon loading a game at any time. It is to eliminate possible collisions. just order return to course or a speed.

Im going to assume you have some hull damage and when you dive you explode. There is a damage indicator of hull damage it goes from 0 to 100 if its anything over 80 Id watch my depth if I were you.

Its not clear to me what your mission objectives were. Be it patrol you need to stay within a 100mi radius for at least 48 hours sometimes up to 72 hours. Tonnage is irrelevant.

If its a photo recon well you need some photos.

Here is a guide on 'how to complete a mission http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=111509

Good luck

Thanks for the help,
The first makes complete sense, I will have to look at my hull damage but that sounds extremely likely, and the third.... i have been pretty close to 100 mile radius for many many days. i will try it again and really watch the distance/clock.
thanks for you help...

Default Didnt seem to work

I just patroled within 100 NM radius of my "patrol" objective for 72 hours and it still says i have not completed my Patrol mission. how do you know the time requirement for a patrol? i am now going to try and patrol within a 50 M radius for another 72 hours and see if that changes anything...

I usually stay about 50 miles from the star. Try advancing time on one of these and just go back and forth and eventually the orange star will turn gray and that means you can radio in and get another mission. I thought my game was broke too but it just takes time.

after 6 days of patroling within 100 and 50 miles radius it finally let me complete the mission, now i have another problem; it wont let me return to my home base. at the begining of this mission it moved me from Pearl Harbor to Brisbane Austrailia. upon completing my patrol i returned to Brisbane, it would only let me refit or postpone. i then sailed to Pearl Harbor, Midway and two other ports trying to find a place to end my mission. i again returned to Brisbane and it still will not let me dock (i obviously have unlimited fuel). i am having so many problems with SH4...almost as many as with SH3....any ideas?
