Grrrrr, No Hoochie-woochie
Again, Balz's career will not load. Single mission and other career work fine. Anyone have any idea what could be causing it? Or how to fix?
I just get the SH3 has encountered a problem and needs to close screen. ![]()

Maybe Balz is unhappy because you won't write a book about him.

Ha! It would be fun to write a book with Balz as protagonist. Alas, I doubt there is a market for it

Sounds like a corrupted save. The only thing I know is to go back to the next previous save and try it. Keep doing this until you find one that will load. I've had this problem a couple of times, and make frequent saves in case it happens again, so I won't lose too much game time. Hmmm a book staring Balz...he would not be able to get his head through the conning tower hatch it would be so swelled up.:rotfl:

Well, there are 12,500 registered members here at the Radioroom.
I realize that number is too small to even be considered a niche market, especially with publishing companies always complaining their cost vs. profit margin is so slim. If it isn't a violation of the contract with your publisher, perhaps a rousing tale of Balz could be electronically published here in the forum as installments, in the fashion of the old pulp and modern literary mags, or as an e-book with the story published in Adobe PDF or Microsoft Word format for download. It's a puzzle to me as well why Balz's career seems to be the only one affected, Brag. I truly do wish I had the gift to merely point and declare, "This is exactly the cause and this is how you fix it." I'm no expert, but it seems to me that Jaesen, being the author of SH3 Commander, ought to be the resident sage on career files. Try giving him a PM and see if he can help or point you to the person who can. Just to make sure it's not a problem elsewhere with Windows, run Scandisk to check your hard drive for errors in the file system then defragment the drive. This will at least help rule out any obvious faults in Windows. It can take a while use Scandisk if you have a very large hard drive and Defrag can take up to a day if you have filled that drive with files. However, the average user can expect Scandisk to spend about 20 minutes doing its thing and defrag will require a few hours. I recommend a well-aged bourbon or dark rum with a good cigar to fortify yourself while enduring this task. As a general rule of thumb, it's a good idea to use Scandisk at least monthly to check your files and folders for errors. Weekly checks aren't really necessary unless you're a heavy power-user or master hacker that puts your box through the wringer almost daily. Is this trouble with Balz the only errors you've encountered lately or have you also been getting errors with other things, not just SH3? [EDIT] Wow! This makes my 300th post! The Radioroom must be home because I've never had anywhere near this much to say in other places. I'm averaging 100 posts per month? I talk too much! LOL. (But you were warned about this in my very first posting.)

Could it be that your computer is getting jealous of Herr Balz:hmm:
