Hi all. I've been lurking for some time, but I believe this is my first post. I tried searching the forums but was unable to find an answer to my question.
Has anyone found a way to turn off or minimize the rippling refraction when the players POV is underwater? It's very distracting and takes away from the realism. It reminds me of a old cartoon where they put a piece of ripply glass over the animation cels. I'm not talking about the transition effect when the POV moves from underwater to above the surface. I think that's very well done. It's the constant rippling while underwater that I find to be annoying. |

You can get rid of that effect easily.
Open Underwater.pfx in your SilentHunter4 \Data\Filters folder with notepad. Set the intensity of UnderwaterDispMap to 0.000 . That's all. You can play now without underwater distortion ...

Thanks! Sounds simple enough. I'll give it a try.
