[TEC] Keeping the recognition manual on the last viewed page

There's been a lot of disappointment voiced over the fact that apparently the devs removed the ability to look at the last page viewed in the recognition manual. Well, it turns out, the feature is still there! Tonight while patrollilng when I moved my mouse cursor to the space below the TDC, I saw a tooltip box pop up that said "Recognition Manual." Sure enough, clicking on the space opened up the manual, just like in SH3. What's more, you can flip to a certain page in the manual and close the manual in the same way you opened it, and viola! The manual will open back to that page when you click on the space below the TDC.

Now, the only thing left to do is to edit the Menu_1024_768 file to get part of the manual showing up on the screen at all times. I tried doing this myself but had no luck with it. It's probably the same line of text that is used for the recognition manual in SH3. Anyone here want to try to find that line, so that we can all edit it to our own liking?

Nice find LukeFF.
Here's a dumb question for ya, though. I can't see that tooltip popping up anywhere, and don't have SHIII for reference. Can you please 'zero in' on exactly where it is on the screen ?
Thanks

Same here - this would be great, but I can't find such a tool tip anywhere on my screen (tried attack scope and TBT screen so far). When I use the button RFB put on the toolbar at the botton, it works just like the "N" key does - i.e., the book closes, and opens back to the correct section it was on (e.g., Merchants) but not the same page - you still have to flip through the pages of merchants till you get back to the same one you were viewing.

Were you finding this in the stock game, or in some modded version? (I'm running RFB 1.28 and various other mods, so maybe that's why I'm not seeing it?)

I see what you mean LukeFF.
This is just great!!!!!!

To everyone:
Open your recman, move your mouse to the left edge of the screen and LeftClick, the recman will be gone. The TDC dials are still useable, no ghost from the recman and later, when you move your mouse to the same spot, just LC and it'll be there on your last viewed page.

As I said, LukeFF, a great find, thanks a lot

Gonna test it right away. Would be great

later that day: No sorry - couldn't do it. Manual closes with a click on the left border. But remained closed when clicking there again. I can only open it again with 'n' or clicking that icon.
