Default Almost Too Embarrassed To Ask This...

....since I've been playing from the release day...but not quite 'cause I really would like to know.

Is there a hotkey or hotkey combination that will raise or lower the periscopes all the way?

When I need to raise or lower them I usually have much more important things to attend to than sit there, for what can seem like forever, with my finger holding down the INSERT/DELETE or the PAGE UP/PAGE DOWN keys.

Why just yesterday ,I popped up the scope to try and locate a sonar contact in heavy fog. Turned out the merchantman was being escorted by an undetected armed tug , at 300 meters, charging my boat with a hell of a bone in his teeth. A hotkey like I am looking for would have come in mighty handy just about then.

If these keys don't exist is there any way to possibly add such an assignment?

Use CTRL in combination with the keys you listed above.

Dang ...I tried that...as it seemed the logical combination, and I tried also in combination with ALT and Shift both but none worked for me. Maybe I wasn't holding them down long enough to register.

Next time out I'll give it another try. If it does work then great and many thanks.

Well that worked all right. Why it didn't before is anyone's guess. I know for a darned certainty I tried using that combo several times without effect.

What's nice (and annoying at times too depending on if you hit them by accident) is you can do this from where-ever in your boat.

So I can be on the bridge and just before I give the order to dive hit the keys to raise the periscope and by the time we start our dive and I'm popped back into the control room I can click on the O-scope and it'll be fully up.

Same with putting it down again after an attack run and you prepare to go deep. Usually I pop back to the control room to start the dive and meanwhile hit that key combo quick to get the scope going down.

Just keep taking deep breaths and let the medicine kick in
