Default Help please

Using only Sh3 Stock, 9th patrol almost end of 1940. My question is, how come i don't have anything else to upgrade? All i got is a new battery a new engine and some side stickers. I can upgrade to a higher VII uboat but thats it. Isn't supposed to have more upgrade available?

Other question: does is get better after 1940 because right now the campaign is boring. I do sink alot of boat but still. I'm the only one fighting here and there without much action. Couples of planes but not much and they can't hit ****.

Single misison are better imo. More action.

One thing that made me laugh alot tho. The fishing boat you don't have to shoot them. Do a destruction derby with the U-boat. Pretty funny actualy. lol

you want action? download the GWX! you will see what the planes and DDs can do...

to see the upgrades available, just click on the interrogation point in the right below corner in upgrade section. you will see the approximative dates of all upgrades. but till 1941, it is almost empty.

In the final years of the war yes I agree, but from 39-43 nah, your deck guns might be useless or getting there but I don't have no problems till mid 44 then I start sweating.

You will only get so many upgrades. Sonar, motors, conning tower, AA, cannon, batteries. Floormats and pinstrip are optional. As far as boring. All these posts have one thing, GWX. Once you have it you will never go back!

There is a lull in upgrades until 1942. 1943-44 are the big ones.

Move to the type-9. You will have to adjust your tactics a bit because it's so much larger. The 7b doesn't get as many upgrades as the 7c's and 9's.

Yes, it "gets better" if you mean "gets more dangerous". 1939-40 was called the "Happy Time" in comparison. You should be using this time to achieve maximum tonnage and medals/promotions for as much of your crew as possible, because you're going to need all of them. You're going to need sonarmen with gold crosses, as well as watch goats.

tycho102 is right. You will get more upgrades later, when the time goes by. Changing the boat will also help.

Provided you want a simulator not an arcadish thing, that is how it was back then in 1939-1940: "monotonous and flat" collection of tonnage and medals. You will get more "action" in the game later on because Allied become better at it.
