Default Where are the clouds?

I'm sure this question has been asked before, but I couldn't find an answer to my specific situation, so please forgive this hapless n00b...

I am playing a fresh installation of SH3, with the 1.4b patch and RUB 1.45. No other mods, ever. I'm in Campaign mode. And there are no clouds. Initially I thought there was no weather whatsoever, but eventually I got rough seas and heavy rain- out of a clear blue sky. Always clear; never clouds, never overcast...

Apart from this irritating detail, everything looks good. Oh, and there ARE clouds in Single Missions...

Any clues? I want to have an immersive experience but realism issues like this one kinda kill the immersion factor.

Hi matey, and welcome to Subsim! This sounds strange, since you have clouds in Single missions... Could be something in the Campaign layers, though.. Im sure someone will come along and assist you better, herr Kaleun!

I had the same thing in GW-1a with SHIII-C in campaigns. When I moved to GWX, the clouds were there as they should be. Clear starry sky's and rain was always rather odd. Never was sure if it was a software issue or my system. But the same hardware was used for both versions. I never played the stock version, so I didn't know the same issue arose in that too.

I've read so many posts about people complaining about lousy weather, it's a change seeing somebody complain for always having clear skies...

Welcome aboard kaleun crosshair
Normally I would answer to your question "in the sky"
Have a look here for one of the weather mods:
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=78792
If that doesn't work then perhaps you have a problem with your installation and may need to consider installing it again

Default Clouds

About a year ago there were many threads concerning lack of clouds. Since GWX, this has disappeared. I suggest you install GWX, SH3CMDR 2.7, SH3 Weather 1.05, and SH3 Gen (v.?). This will give you a current install and take care of your problem
