just a quick message to ask everyone to buy this game and get your mates to buy the game too as oppose to getting the game illegally or copied. I know 99% of you would buy the game anyway but the more money made from this game and the more successful it is, the better we get in the future!

If your gonna buy any game then support all future sub sims by buying this one!

i certainly wont get this game illegal but until i get some sort of aknowledgement from ubi that they are aware that british subs were in ww2 iant gonna buy sh4 either.

im british and i dont feel short changed that there are no British subs! the campaign by British subs was considerably smaller than the German U-boat campaign or the US campaign in the pacific. I just feel glad we are getting quality sub sims. could be worse! we might have bugger all or be in the same dire straights as the flight sim genre!

A couple of years ago, a survey in a swedish newspaper showed that about 80 % had got illegal games from the internet.

I will for sure buy this game(legal) but I'll NOT buy it when it reach the shelf. First about ½ to a year after. Why? I don't know how things works in your countries, but here a game cost about 25 to 30 % more than it should.

A friend of mine, who has/had a computer store said once

-There will always be jerks. Produce a lowprice game. make a commercial with some famouse person e.g britney and I promise you that there will be people sleeping in tents infront of the store. Instead of taking 10 $ for this game as it's should cost you can take an overprice...let say 50 dollars.

I'm not saying that piracy is ok, but I wish that some people would calm down a little and not rushing to the store a soon a game come out.

Just remember the amount of sales effect what kind of limits UBI puts on the developer.

So consequently the dev team only got a year to develop. The financial success dictates the amount of resources and time.

So don't complain if you don't buy.

I will also not buy it on the release day, but likewise rent it a few days from a gamestore to test it over to see whether it fulfills my expectation. Ubisoft disappointed me the last few months so much with incomplete and not playable games and a hotline support which cannot help.

If we don't buy it (and soon after release at full price), it will send the wrong message to Ubi. It will kill, or at least castrate the Silent Hunter franchise. This is not the mass produced over-commercialised stuff like COD or Battlefied, I couldn't care less if people pirate that. Some games deserve to be bought though, and SH4 is one of those games that needs the support of the fans just to exist.

You're SO gonna copy it. This post smells like a firebrand preach for why its ok to copy games. If you're that afraid of paying too much, buy it from the Subsim store instead. You're supporting this site and you're much less of a hypocrit, to boot.

I will not be buying it on release date..only about a month after it is released and I see what bugs and problems they left in the game will I decide to buy or not.

I don't think there'll be any comparison between SH3 and SH4 at the time of release. SH3 was rushed by Ubisoft and certainly not Beta tested correctly. The end result of that was 'patch mania' which drove us all mad.

SH4 is a totally different animal. With SH4 we will be dealing with tweaks to the game and not fundemental fixing. The visual look of the game is beautiful, and significant improvements have been made to the game play elements.

Ubisoft are now saying loud and clear that once the initial batches of the game are dispatched, a basic game package will then be issued. I would therefore strongly urge Forum members to pre-order this game.

Those who wait a few months to purchase the game in order to see the Forum feedback on it will end up with the basic package and not the limited edition.
