Default How to get ready for torp.launch again?

After I have set myselft perfectly in a 90degreee angle and fired a couple of torpedes in GWX, I realise that the first one hit badly and the other one was faulty. I then have to quickly get to firing position again.
How do you guys get as fast as possible into firing position again withoug sailing for hours and setting up again? I have tried to put the rudder to extreme left/right and full speed and trying on the stern, but I can't get it to work.

Thanks in advance.

BTW, the ship flooded in the big stormy waves eventually before I got into position (saved me a torpedo...)

It really depends on the speed of the target your distance from it and the conditions of the sea. If you're very close (less than 1000m) and the target doesn't move faster than 8kts you can always fire a second one with fast speed setting. It will not hit the target in a perfect angle but it will hit and do damage.

If noy you're further away I'm affraid you will have to go ahead flank while submerged and position yourself again.

If the seas are calm I usually set a torp. to magnetic for a keelshot.
Then it does not matter if I´m almost behind the target.....

If your target is escorted--forget it!

With unescorted merchies, I usually fire when relative bearing of ship is about 30 degrees. This will give me an AOB of about 80 degrees when the torpedo hits, and the target will still be on a relative bearing less than 360. I can still launch and hit the target before the AOB is near to 80 for the second torp.

If I fire from rear tube, I immediately order hard port or starboard rudder and increase speed. By the time I've made my 180 degree turn, the target is still in a favorable position for a second shot.

I sometimes will parallel the target's course and fire a torp as long as the gyro andle is less than 80 degrees. If target is unarmed, you can surface!

Good hunting!
