Default Missing vessels?

Curious why there seem to be alot of ommisions in the types of boats some world navies have in the game. For example, North Koreas 20+ Romeo class boats are not included....nor are any of there warships, with the exception of a few fast attack rocket boats....

The Arleigh Burkes, due to spiral development, exist in about 3 different versions. You've got:
  • Arleigh Burkes w/no hanger, CIWS and a tail
  • Arleigh Burkes w/a hanger, CIWS and no tail
  • Arleigh Burkes w/a hanger, ESSM, and no tail
Only one of them is modeled in DW. The only reason I can think of is that they ran out of money and hoped that enterprising navy geeks would eventually supplement their oversights.

Does anyone else remember the days when wargames were all about the good databases and mechanics and not about the graphics?

It's up to 3 now. There were others, though. My first computer naval sim was Red Storm Rising. In all honesty, it's internals are more sophisticated than a lot of models the Navy uses today for simulation.
