Hi Syxx_Killer, I'm useing the High quality bow and stern wake as well, and Didn't really notice the purple wake. I'm useing an ATI X1650pro GC if it matters. As far as the grainy effect goes I'm not too crazy about it myself. What bugs me the most, and I've noticed this from day one of the Sim's release, is that my images always have a hazey, washed out look to them as opposed to the crisp and clear images of SH3. I always thought that this was the grainey effect, to give the Sim a more dated, of the period look. |

Huh? I dont get you, Im playing SH4 and I have no grainey picture or washed out colours. PE4 just makes the colours much more vibrant which imo would make you assume the normal game is dull. Since your using an ATi card same as me, just open CCC and go to the screen options (digital panel for me) and set your Avivo colour correction up higher. That will make everything much more vibrant with colour.
And as for the graining, are your sure your drivers are up to date? As I said I have no graining what so ever, everything is crisp and clear. Mind you I am running the game with all options maxed out with 8x temporal AA (=16xAA), Quality Adaptive AA, and 16xAF. *EDIT* I also just noticed about the mention above about the ingame clock. There is definately a bug in there somewhere as I was getting sunrise at 12pm on some patrols, and having clouds race across the sky at breakneck speeds. These were with the 1.5 stock game. Krillers mod seems to sort the time of day issues from stock. Last edited by Lexandro; 10-03-08 at 07:08 AM. |

Some people though, like the grainy effect and want it to be re-enabled.

I'm still seeing the striated glitch ocean...frequently.
![]() It is true that if I SAVE game, then exit, then reload the SAVED Game, the striations are gone and ocean looks fine. BUT, if I just SAVE, then immediately "RESUME", the striations do not go away. It's quite a pain....hopefully there might be a resolution to the glitch.

Well Doolittle, if you have tried the EE mod you will probaly know that you have to choose between the lines in the water in PE4 or totaly flat ocean, both me and Wclear have this problem, so if you can't live with one of those problems try using the stock SH4 scene, where the bug is less noticeable, but you will get silver water instead.
I hope that the SH5 will correct this, it's the most anoying thing there is about SH4 ![]() |

Truth is, I would have never thought of the "ripples" as a bug if it were never mentioned. They actually don't really look that out of place to me, but then again I'm probably the best at missing something.

Hi,
Should PE 4 be installed before or after RSRD? I've read the faq and it just mentions OM. This is the order I'm thinking: TM 152 TMO enable Uboat TMO Sboat engine patch US Medals fix TMO152 RSRD v371 RSRD patch 10 RSRD AuxGB fix TMO Floatplane fix PE4 loading screen #1 PE4 Install main #2d PE4 special effects for TMO 152 #3 PE4 Sub stock caustics rollpitch deeper #4 PE4 ship debris SH4 w/bodies #5 PE4 real reflections for harbor and objects Thanks. Thanks Kriller. I just noticed this, on page 4 of the readme, in the FAQ section, it says to install in this order: TM, OM, PE4. The enclosed jpg for using with TM/OM, the order shows TM, PE4, OM. Which is correct?
I'll install RSRD after PE4 per the example jpg for now. CW ![]()

the 'ripples' appear to me even when i come out of TC of 512 or less, apparently it happens whenever the weather deteriorates during TC. but the save/reload is hardly necessary because it just goes away when the weather clears up again during the next phase of TC. weather changes so often that it's hardly a problem at all, really. for me, anyway.
other than that, i just want to say: this is fantastic ![]() ![]()
