Convoy Ready to Set Sail

Found this gem last night during a harbor raid, was a small channel in the back and followed it to the end. Was shocked when I found an entire convoy docked and waiting to leave, and no escorts at all!

Several of the ships had guns mounted on them so wasn't able to wreak complete havoc by emptying the deck gun and sinking another 3 or 4 big ships :p

(-Mod edit; changed file size, .png too large :-)

It was very difficult getting into there and equally as hard getting out. If I didn't have the external cam enabled I'd have gotten sunk trying to navigate through all the sandbars. Even with a VIIC I'd still ground out frequently or have to surface for a few minutes, would be almost impossible to get a type IX in there.

This is from GWX 2.0, I've got too many open careers in 2.0 that I doubt I'll be upgrading for quite some time.

Well first of all WOW!! Where was that place time, date, area ect...

Second I upgraded to GWX 2.1 without losing any careers and i didn't roll back the mod's and so far everything still working as if I didn't do anything. When people post pic's or talk about places they have been to with lot's of ship's or engagements then need to put in the time, date and area so others may enjoy thire success too.. Congrates on your finding and good luck on your career ahead.

It was quite a find, but as the war goes on it won't really be feasable. The little kanal that runs from the adjacent harbor to it is barely deep enough for a type VII to submerge, and if you don't use the external camera (thus taking a 10% hit in realism) you're not gonna make it. Too many sandbars make plotting a course on the map impossible. Not to mention that getting into that harbor itself is pretty tough, lots of escort traffic passing in the 50-100 km range so you're submerged for a long time; frequently had to surface just to replenish air (luckily lots of places in the harbor to hide) for the few minutes needed.

Well, you could always wait outside the small canal for the ships to come out right?
Or won't they come through the canal? It seems hard to believe an entire convoy would pass through it, they'd be lined up like so nicely, you won't even need to aim!
