Default Low-country Kaleuns and lowdown on the med

Good Day/Guten Tag/Goedendag

I graduated on dutch/english translation I'll be glad to help out between playing and work

now for the intel on the eastern mediterranean I've been gathering

The eastern med april of 1942

contacts in chronological order, where I have specific info because of actual intercepts it's noted in greater detail

4-4-42 3.01u Friendly taskforce grid CO2935 course E medium speed, leaving Suda bay, Crete

4-4-42 7.34u Enemy taskforce grid CO6635 course SE 11 kts heads to alexandria

5-4-42 4.17u Enemy warship grid CN3597 course WNW 14 kts

5-4-42 5.18u Enemy taskforce grid CN5247 course 278 14kts

Intercepted and acquired this one, it's a biggie allright, taskforce consists of

1 King George V BB
1 Rodney BB
1 Nelson BB
5 Dido CL
2 Hunt I DD
1 Tribal DD
2 V&W DD
2 Q&R DD

course and speed confirmed, they maintained course and speed for at least 100NM from first detection until I lost contact

6-4-42 16.41u Enemy taskforce grid CN3555 course E 16 kts
21.56u same taskforce grid CN3655 course 95 taskforce consists of 1 Fiji CL, 1 Dido CL, 2 hunt II DD, 1 Tribal DD
they change course to 120 in grid CO1585

9-4-42 Friendly warship grid CO1175 course NE 12 kts

12-4-42 Enemy Taskforce grid CO1686 course ESE 14 kts

12-4-42 8.48u Enemy warship grid CO5341 course W 16 kts

13-4-42 10.54u Friendly Convoy grid CN3911 course 285 slow

13-4-42 20.51u Enemy taskforce long 29 17' E lat 34 12' N course ESE 11 kts measure 371km from alexandria direction 348, right there

16-4-42 6.10u Ship grid CO5378 course E medium

17-4-42 Enemy taskforce grid CO5217 course ESE 14 kts untis: 2 Fiji CL 1 town DD 1 river DE 1 C&D DD

20-4-42 Ship grid CO6843 course 285 slow (actually one tramp steamer, a River DE and a Bathurst corvette) Aussies

23-4-42 12.07u Enemy warship CO4624 course W 12 kts

Those are the reported and confirmed contacts now follows a general(ish) map

and for the Harbor raiders, (meneer Mohr ) this one's a toughie:

Next trip will be to Alexandria, I hope I have better weather then because most of this Data was gathered in fog and 15m/s wind, the only nice days were when leaving and returning to base

patrol tonnage: 26k

2 tramp steamers
1 hunt II DD
2 Fiji Cruisers (ok that was pretty nice got me promoted anyway)

fired a fish each at those aussies too but they got lucky, 1 premature, 1 bad angle dud and one very lucky bathurst Corvette:

7 juni 1940.
im almoast at southend.
was no harbour at harwich so i continued to southed.

edit: arrived at the harbour and got imediatly under fire from a armed trawler and a elco.
also spotted a black swan in the harbour

edit 2: in the harbour at the moment.

enemy units patroling the harbour:
1 elco torpedoboat
1 armed trawler
1 C&D DD (just arrived)

red is a subnet.
green are oceanliners.
pink are V&W and Black Swan.
white is a modern medium tanker.
orange is a small merchant.

there are more units in the harbour but i think the Luftwaffe (or bernard and dinsdale) took care of them

edit3: VERDAMTEN Göring !!!!!! ILL KILL HIM.
he ordered his luftwaffe to bomb my targets in the harbour

That's where my patrol grid is.

There are a lot of DDs over there it's true. If you stay and look around you will find LOADS of single merchants and convoys. It's a U-Boat Dream Patrol Grid

I got one, but only because its speed was 6.5 knots, so I could observe, flank, ambush and sink it like if it was a merchant. Usually they have speeds above 20 kts.

First warship I sank this way.
