i dont know where those strange pics come from, but i may also be they just show up because of that heavy freeze i get. Maybe they are always in the background..who knows ;P
In my opinion the freeze is the main problem, from what i read here it doesnt seem to be related to the type of vga or sth else, but maybe you still got an idea what i could try, except updating drivers.
This mod looks so cool...now that i saw it i dont really want to play without it
Have you tried the d3d antilag fix? If not, I can package it up as a JSGME mod, and post a link so that you can try it easily. If you are not currently using it, it should stop the freezing entirely(I use it, and it works wonders for FPS).

Thanks Sober. The high resource usage mod was actually pretty easy to do. It is the lower version that was very difficult to figure out exactly how everything needed set in order to stay low res but still look decent.

Just install using your SH5 JSGME. It's exactly the same one I use.

Oh, the d3d fix is not my mod. I just have it(you can download it from a website, don't have the link handy though). But, that website does not have the fix in JSGME format.

Anyway, here is the fix in JSGME format. Just install it like any other mod.

You are more than welcome, I just hope that this works for you.

Edit: AVM beat me to it. Either download will work just fine.

Sorry, I probably shouldn't have done that.

There is a difference between my version and SteelVikings one: mine adds one more restriction to your game (allows maximum FPS of 30), while his lets your game generate as much FPS as it wishes. You can easily change this setting by editing the "antilag" file (in Notepad) and changing 30 to other values (0 - no restriction).

So if 0 works fine for you and fixes your problem, leave it as it is. If it doesn't, try 30 (lower values will give rather unacceptable results). If 30 works fine, you can then try higher settings step by step, till you reach the limit of you comp abilities. I wouldn't suggest going higher than your screen frequency though (it wouldn't make much sense anyway).

hmm, that didnt help me either guys, i could cry
I even tried an older driver cause I was running newest nvidia beta driver with no success....
I dont understand whats going wrong here. I might try to reinstall SH but I think I do that tomorrow.
Was there any other case with a similar problem, maybe just without those pictures showing up. Just want to mention again it only occurs inside the tower, everything else runs fine.

btw where could that come from with the pictures from the intro video showing up during the freezes, doesnt have much to do with my problem I think but I still wonder

That is weird, reinstall could be helpful. But did you try disabling the intro video? Check my mod, you have nothing to lose:

There is one other thing that you could try. I have an ATI card, and I have CCC(control software for the card) do Nvidia cards have a controller software program for them?

If so, I would recommend setting the software to accept application settings. I have found that setting it up that way works best for SH5.

Ok i tried both of your ideas, still no success.
But with the intro fix, at least those annoying pics dont show up anymore Now I could see that the games switches to desktop for short time during the freeze all the time, but only for about a sec or less.
Maybe you have an idea about that.

I hope we manage to get it working for me, I dont mind how many time it takes

Oh and i did a reinstall to get sure its no install error

I'm a newbie to SH5 and I've never heard of such bug before. No idea how to help you. I'd bet though it is a hardware issue - graphic card... or processor, or power supply...

Yes it could be a conflict with my hardware and sh5, but I dont have any problems in any games and in sh I dont have any problems aswell,
except with this mod
I hope its not related to my hardware but atm it seems the only explanation

edit: i ran a complete hardware stress test, everything is fine...could only be conflict between SH and my hardware but i cant imagine why

Anyway thanks to you both for trying to help me

I think this is a really good mod SteelViking, one question or future suggestion though if I may...

The exterior shadows sometimes appear a little too strong for the lighting conditions e.g. morning sunrise or when there is cloud cover. Is it possible to wash the shadows out a little perhaps by increasing the transparency when the light levels are low or diffuse?

I have really been neglecting this mod because of how focused I have been on my interior mod. I already have a new version of this mod that is almost ready to roll out. It does not make the exterior shadows less intense(there is not a way to "really" do that sadly) but, it does make the edges of the exterior shadows softer and more anti-aliased. And, that does tend to make them look less strong.
