there is a Salt Water Trout.
As for the emblems. I found the womens' drawings in Captains Girls. They are both drawings from the 1940s I suspect. The woman (Barb) on torpedo scoldiing the small soldier - I submitted that drawing to Digital Trucker with my idea for an emblem. Somehow Gunfighter got involved. Then I uploaded them to Photobucket, and Gunfighter downloaded the drawing of Barb and used a program to situate her on a torpedo of his creation. He also changed the color of her hair to brown. The real USS Barb was a highly decorated submarine, and it sent a crew to the Japanese mainland where the blew up a train. See Wikipedia and threads in the main forum that include the Barb's famous battleflag, and the commander's report of the attack on the train. On the battleflag, at the bottom, is a locomotive! Her battleflag is also at the links to battleflags in the initial post in this thread. The periscope shot is my work fiddling with photobucket. I could not figure out how to inset cross-hairs, as I do not think they had the proper tools for that task. The dancer in the "Navy outfit" is also a Captain's girls drawing. It is unmodified, except the size has been changed. She is single and available, but you have to like to party and take her dancing to have a chance. She loves to fish -- that may be your shot. I keep telling her she needs to wear longer dresses, but she won't listen. |

Maybe I should get another Gar? I have no deck gun. Today, I disabled a merchant with my last two aft torpedoes, as I was out of bow torpedoes. I could not finish the merchant since I had no deck gun. Otherwise the Gar is a wonderful boat

I cannot find the emblem with the total tonnage sunk for my Gar. It is the boat with no deck gun. Did you delete the post with the donwload files for that boat? I want to sawve the emblem or an updated one. I did locate the email you sent with my total tonage sunk, so I can update my report. I just finished a patrol and for the second time the base did not load any torpedoes. What do you think the issue is?

You have to reload the torpedos yourself when you come in from a patrol. Just drag the ones you want from the left side into the slots.
Your folder at Battleflags.net will always contain the latest update you've received (except for the short period of time between when I finish uploading it and when I send you a PM telling you it's there). Just go to http://battleflags.net/flags/images/...%27%20down.jpg for the full sized flag or to http://battleflags.net/miniflags/Bat...20down_sig.jpg for the signature flag. |

I also extracted RFB and RSRDC from my downloaded mods folder and actived them to ensure those files were not corrupted. When I put my USS GAR, SS 206 to sea, I checked for the deck gun which I had activated in port. It is still missing, and is either invisible or not there. I think there must be a mod conflict with RFB/RSRDC and the boat mod. I could have used the gun to finish off a freighter that was dead in the water, as I was out of torpedoes. As of today, I am running version 1.5 with the following mods installed in the order listed. (1.) RFB/RSRDC (current versions with patches and updates), (2.) USS GAR, SS 206 mod by Digital_Trucker, (3.) RSM by Digital_Trucker, and (4.) jamminadrid's Mini_ChronoTools mod installed via JTex. Nisgeis produced a is a pdf of the TSAC v2.1 chart that duplicates the Hitman's TSAC v2.1 mod which is pinned to and displays on the Attack Map, and I am using it in lieu of the mod as of today. Hopefully this is enough information to help resolve or be a guide to fixing the deck gun issue. Last edited by I'm goin' down; 02-18-09 at 05:07 PM. |

I don't have a clue why the deck gun is missing. I do know that the Killflags mod (your sub skin) is nothing but several textures that are applied to the subs hull and conning tower. As such, this mod can't cause any of the problems that you describe. It does sound like a conflict or an error in activating the mods.

![]() gah I have to start from scratch...took 15 mins to get the USS. Trout and the mod does work with RSRD. Before submitting my next report I'll decide if I want RFB or stock since I do like what RFB gives |

Here is what may be of use to you. If you are having trouble with attacks, and believe me, at 100% realism they are not easy, I suggest starting with the stock game. The object is to learn the various attack techniques. There are several. They include:
1. the Dick O'Kane method (see Rockin Robbins; video tutorial); 2. Attacking at a steep angle using vector analysis, which includes the John Cromwell attack technique (see Rockin Robbins' video tutorial and download his 3 x 5 cards that contain the attack rules); 3) Sonar only attack sequence - this very advanced. (See Rockin Robbins' and Werner Sobe's video tutorials); and 4. Manual targeting (see Hitman's simplied manual targeting at 100% realism and read my critique of his method [it is a great way to learn manual targeting.] After you sink a few ships, download and install the SCAF mod in your stock game as it makes manual target much easier. The advantage of not using the mod at the beginning of the learning curve is that hopefully you will be learn by workng through the procedures Hitman describes when you are attacking a target how and why the SCAF mod simpifies Hitman's time consuming attack methodology (it is a brilliantly thought out tutorial); 5. Double attack video tutorial, but I cannot remember who prepared it. It is quite good. Start with Dick O'Kane and the John Cromwell attack technique. Then go to Hitman's tutorial, and learn about aspect ratio and how that fits in to an attack with manual targeting. The toughest one to master is sonar only, as you never see the target, and you track it and fire torpedoes from bearings and range given by your Soundman. And load a super mod for your deck gun, so when you get frustrated you can blow up an entire convoy when you have no more fish in the tubes. This is not an easy simulation to master, and the enemy is savvy. You will find lot's of help in the forum. Have fun! Last edited by I'm goin' down; 02-19-09 at 02:24 AM. |

If you'd like to verify this, deactivate the sub skin and run the game again. Your deck gun will still be missing and your torpedos still won't load. There is absolutely no way that this mod could be causing the problems you described. |
