Hello fellow skippers!
Just a quick question: Should I wait to complete my first patrol on my new boat or can I submit the patrol report even now that I am still at sea (I mean submit it with no kills for the time being)?

Btw Very great idea this about the kill flags.... I just love it!

Hi, skipper! If the boat your are currently assigned is already "built", there is no need to send a report in until your first patrol is complete. If your boat is not built yet, then it might be a good idea to go ahead and send in a commissioning request so we'll have time to build your boat. If you check here you can see if your boat has been built yet.

The boat I have (SS 202 USS Trout) is on the list and I have downloaded. In fact I returned from my first patrol and submited the form... Allthough I have a little a problem. Just as i returned from my first patrol I was given a new tower for my sub so now I don't have my emblem painted on it. Is there any way to put it back? Wich file should I replace?

@prologos: Patridaaaaaaa! Weird that you don't have the emblem on the new tower. Unless you downloaded a conning tower only, you should have the emblem on all the towers available for that boat.

Yeah, what Beasty said. The skin you downloaded should show an emblem no matter what tower you have. If you installed it with JSGME, then all the necessary graphics should have been installed into the game. When I do your update, I'll double check to make sure the emblems are in the right spots. Sorry for the problem.

I will uninstall it - install it again and tell you if it is fixed

I tried to figure out what's wrong but I can't...
I suspect that a tower from another sub type was fit onto mine but I am not sure.
I replaced the SClass textures and the PClass Textures with the textures from the USS Trout archive but to no avail.

[Edited] I 've found it!!!
It's the gato tower that is fixed on my USS Trout. I went to wikipedia and found photos of all classes of subs....
I replaced the NSS_GatoTower_T01.dds and NSS_GatoTower_T02.dds with the files from the USS-Trout archive and voila...

Now I have The body and tower of a Tambor and the antennas of a Gato Class
Is that normal? To fit a tower of one class to another?
I hope you can fit the killflags on that

That's the first I've heard of a Gato tower on a Tambor If that is a common thing, then that's gonna throw a kink into this mod. I've looked through the data files for the Tambor and I can't find any evidence that the game should be putting a Gato tower on a Tambor.

I need to make sure I understand what you did to correct the problem. You're saying that you took the NSS_TamborTower_T01 and _T02 files and renamed them to NSS_GatoTower_T01 and _T02 in the ...Data\Textures\tex folder?

If all this have never been encountered before maybe is something done by the mods I 've been using? Allthough there are the mods used by allmost everybody in here...

If it helps i can reload my old savegame, finish the patrol again and tell you the message it gave me about the new tower (as I can't exactly recall it right now).
I believe that probably is something wrong with my installment (or mods) of the game as by now someone should have encountered the same thing, don't you think?

If you wouldn't mind, it might be helpful to get that message, though I think it's just going to tell you that you can have a new conning tower. I don't know if anyone would have seen this before because only those folks using the killflags mod would even notice. It's got me scratching my head. I don't think a mod would cause that kind of problem, but you never know. :hmm:
