Subject: Patrol Updates/Boat requests

Since we are all working feverishly to catch-up with the backlog of first time boat requests and patrol reports, we ask those that already have a Skin/Battle Flag to kindly limit their Update submissions to 1-2 times per week.

There are allot of Captains out there who have not received their first skin/Battle Flag, and others who are on their second to Third Boat or Ninth Patrol Update.

Until we catch-up, first time requests will be given priority.

Hm...not a good time for me to get a new boat...one that's not even in the list! Tell you what, I've found a pretty good image of its Battle Flag, I'll play around with it and see if I can attach it to my conning tower. If I succeed, I'll send it over to you guys so you can add the USS Seahorse (Balao class) to your list...and of course request a kill flag for it!

I tried getting the USS Seahorse flag on my boat, but I'm not too happy with what I've accomplished. From a distance it looks ok:

but if you get close enough, you get to see some discoloration and color bleeding at the borders

I suspect it's the DDS program I use (couldn't get the nVidia DDS plug-in to work with my Photoshop, so I used DXTBMP and Paint Shop Pro 8).

I've uploaded a JSGME-ready version of the tower here, which includes the original image I used as template, and a few reworks I've done on that. If you like what I've done, it's all yours. But I'm certain you guys can come up with something better

Try editing the emblem and doing a transform --> Horizontal Flip.

That will get the Horsey pointing foreward.

I'd be happy to work on this with you.
