Some input to one of Skybird's comment.

"Personally I do not like police having to wear their names on their uniforms"

Maybe the justits department should take a look at Sweden and Denmark.

Here they have a number instead.

Which means nothing for the ordinary citizens and it is this number a person shall use if they want to fill a complain against a police officer.

It is only at the headquarter they know the real name behind this number.

I could swear I said right that.

But they should wear numbers by which they can be anonymously identified if charges gets filed against them by private persons. Examination of such incidents should not be left to an internal department, but must be transparent, the examination must be counter-controlled by an instance that is outside the police: the accused cannot be in control of the examination. It has been said a lot about the powerful police unions (in America) preventing right this neutral examination working if problems arise. That since so long nothing has changed for the better, is hugely to their part, since they block change and protect their members. Well, thats why I have read, and what they said in a docu in TV this evening.

Just saying.

I think in Germany we have both, depends on the federal state you are in.

Yeah of course, thinking of what he all said nothing has much to do with facts

Well I know you don't take this seriously. At least I hope you don't. They said the same thing about Bush Jr and Obama. It's a political tactic to paint the president as the dictator they want him to be.

The truth is that any president who refused to give up the office would be up against it. On January 20 2020 the winner of the election becomes President and all the power of that office is transfered to him or her on that date. The people who believe in these conspiracy theories never explain how a losing president would retain power.

Refusing to leave the White House would not make Trump President. It would make him look foolish though.

The same goes in other democratic countries

Where the government or the opposition try to convince the voters, the opposition/government is not worth a vote.

You don't say

The actual speech sounds a bit different and it's interesting to note than no candidate ever has said they would accept questionable results, nor has a candidate ever said that they would not accept victory. Gore didn't. Hillary still doesn't and you can bet your bottom dollar that when Trump wins reelection the Dems will not accept that result either.

Just great, another strange new virus will probably "magically" show up on our shores.

Bases named for Confederates changed to Afghan War generals, continuing tradition of naming bases after losers

https://www.duffelblog.com/2020/06/b...-after-losers/

Quote:
“Our generals who led our forces in Afghanistan cost our country in excess of two trillion dollars over the last 18 years, only to inevitably cede all our gains back to the Taliban as soon as we completely withdraw, and all for the cause of maintaining our nation’s enslavement to the military-industrial complex,” added Esper.

“Frankly, their profligate accomplishments dwarf those of the Confederacy, and we are proud to inscribe their names on the gates of our military installations.”

The war was not in vain ... we now have some of the best trained troops in the world and may even have prevented another Bin Laden from forming another attack on American soil, of which it's own citizens have now taken up bricks against.

Diseases show up on our shores all the time. Until now they have never been deliberately used by one party to destroy the economy and institute authoritarian rule.
