Im glad you worked the installation problem out without my help Dutch, In the begining of ROW we were thinking about making an installation procedurer and Mc. Beck helped me on that, but it turns out there was to many questions, so we ended up with JSGME.

Weather's pretty wonky over here. Just a couple of days ago the temp was around 30 C, which is DAMN HOT. Now it's gotten windy, and we expect rain and a drastic temperature drop until Sunday. I'm not all that happy with the heat, even with the pretty Aegean sea at your lap it can get bloody hot during summer and, well, I'm more used to cooler climates (I blame it on growing up in Sweden!) :p

Well, Greece did enter WW2 shortly after one of our frigates was torpedoed by an Italian submarine at the day of a major religious holiday (15th August 1940). Also, if memory serves, there was some submarine warfare in the Mediterranean basin, though I'm hardly an expert in this area. So yeah, if you want visual information about the Aegean Sea, count me in!

Everytime there's an explosion game locks up eg: all black and i have to hit reset on my rig to reboot


Any ideas ???

Using beta nvidia driver (works fine in crysis and Cod4 etc)

Rest of pc specs i can post if needed

Hope someone knows what i'm doing wrong lol

ps: using Install less floater, could this be the problem ??

Def: does this lock-up happen every time there's an explosion, or only if you have your camera aimed at it (i.e. observing it)? My suspicions fall on the beta drivers you're using. Try an older version and see if it happens again.

ETA: Just a heads-up, if you're planning to use the latest TM and ROW Sounds on top: you'll need a small fix to use those two mods together. I released it a while ago, but I'll be damned if I remember even the name of the mod! :rotfl: Let me undig it for ya!

ETA#2: Found it! Go grab it here. Disregard the "For TM SP2" part, it's still a viable fix. Install it AFTER TM and ROW Sounds.

Damn it's been driving me nuts lol

3gigs outa 4 of crucial ram died on me, I spend a small fortune on another 8gig (4x2) and stuff me that's fubar lol, finally got some g-Skill gigs and man it rocks

Load me a new vista x64 seup and fav sim crashes lol

Well i was using obs to fire at a ship and it locked/blanked as it exploded

Think 1 time i may not of been viewing when it exploded/locked up (think i was diving n turning fast)

Anyways will dl latest non-beta (this beta is great in the only 2 other games i play that's the weird thing lol)


Well i go n sort driver then i'll be back (ohh the nvids latest beta soon to be released cures the x4 AA and above problems )

Ugh...why are you torturing yourself with Vista, my good man?!
Good to hear about the 4xAA and above problems being solved, but do remember it's still a beta. Which means there may be bugs still there that might be responsible for the crash.

ETA: Just make a Single Mission with the SH4MissionEditor with a target and your sub. Easy as goblin pie!

I had that exact problem. Once I installed the latest 174.93 beta drivers the problem went away. If that doesn't work, also try UNchecking the Post Processing Option.

By the way, I have 8800GTX 768MB card....and VISTA 32bit

I have a similar problem. My PC will produce a bluescreen and will reboot if I use a high quality environment mod like PE2 or Environment 4.3.
I’m using Vista Ultimate 64bit and got an 8800GTX as well. I tried the new beta driver from Nvidia and the only thing that changed was that instead of a bluescreen I got a blackscreen and the computer looked up completely so I had to restart manually. I changed back to the old WHQL driver.
The framerate is ok and no problem with stock SH4.

The bluescreen mentions something about a dll starting with nv, I guess it is related to the driver from Nvidia.

You say deactivating post processing might have an effect? - Well I give it a try.
