Default An interesting video about Victor (I,II,III) class SSNs

http://www.army.lv/video/153.wmv

In Russian language (I don't speak it, but understand a little), but anyway very interesting - about construction of the first Victor I class (671+) submarine. Some interesting views of Victor interior and equipment, for example active sonar screen - quite similar to what we have on 688I in the game :P

P.S. After few minutes of watching, I see it's about building the first VICTOR class submarine, 671 (and later Victor models), NOT an Akula as I wrote first.... sorry about misinformation, i thought it will be about Akula...

It's about Victor I (and later) class submarines, not Akula !! Sorry for misinformation...

P.S. Anyone knows what is showed between 2.49 and 2.54 into the video ? On what sub could those pictures be taken? Are those displays russian ot is it US sub ?

Kapitan, translation of this video would be very interesting to read... Are you sure you don't want to try?

I understand it but do you have any idea how hard dictation is? especialy when some words dont exist from russian to english so yes im pretty sure this might be a 38 min DVD but i can assure you if you went through for translation you would be there for a couple of hours writing it all down and i just havent got the time.

Just give us a minute by minute rundown so we catch the gist and especially any facts and observations that you think we wouldn't find reading the usual Western sources.

For the documentary, I got a feeling it'd be a really good documentary if only I can understand Russian, but honestly that commentator guy just likes his face too much. Does he not realize we much prefer to see more sub and less of his face?
