Whenever you come near a convoy or something, your computer's time compression chews down and updates very choppily; likewise you really can't get time compression up very fast.
This really makes carrying out war patrols become a tedious chore. I'm just wondering if anyone's done any experiements to speed up the way the game plays? I've done this by creating modified atlantic and mediterranean-only random campaign files; in which only convoys, etc which are in either the atlantic or pacific are in; but that doesn't seem to help much. EDIT: One of my ideas is that the huge amounts of ships in convoys hurts; perhaps reducing the number of ships in a convoy by say 25% could dramatically speed up the game?
