Default 100k ton club with 6 ships sunk

Finally!
I joined the 100000 ton club!
Nov 1943, U53, VIIB, under the command of Hans Rudel, encounters a convoy with 2 45000 ton Cunard Passenger Liners, Grid AL28. I also got a Mod. Med. Tanker, a Large Merchant, a Medium Tanker, and a River Class.

I am able to get the VIIC-41. Is this something I want? The depth is the same, and I get more options, like Radar Absorbing Tarmatte. I think I'm going to try and finish my career with U53, she's served me well.

I'm not sure about getting the VIIC-41?

Well, I finaly got some moolah to donate here and buy the subsim almanac '08.

Congratulations!

My old love is my type VIIB U-49 and I am always in the same position like you.
VIIC41 should be able to go deeper and starting in 43 this option sounds very good to me.

I've never survived with my VIIB to the end of the war, yet. :hmm:

You know how to flush them out?

Hahaha

Someday...someday! Is it 100,000 tons in one patrol, or cumulative over a career?

Only in one patrol. The carrer highest i think is 2 000 000 tons but not sure. In any case my best was 60k but i had fired 2 salvos in two nights against a large ship and some of the torps missed, others exploded too early or were duds

The easy way to the "club":

IXC with 22 eels + port raiding in the Caribbean. Just as Jack Sparrow.

Have done it three times, the result is 350 000 tonnes and 30 ships. There's a lot of tankers, even in neutral harbors! Convoys are also often weakly escorted, even in late war. And, haven't seen a single minefield near the harbors. Check the place out!

I'm using GWX 1.03.

Is this the fabled "Tanker Alley" I keep hearing about?

^^
Having spent my last couple of campaigns lurking off the west coast of Ireland, I do believe this proposition has merit

Port raiding in the Carribean sounds like fun. I wonder if I can get Bdu to allow me to swing by there....who cares that it is half way across the world?
