Luftwaffe robbed me!

In my current patrol, LSH2015, off the coast of Spain between Lisbon and Gibraltar; lining up a single merchantman for a submerged torpedo attack. Two JU-88s make several runs at the ship, then when I think they have finished I fire a single torpedo. Just as the torpedo is about to hit one of the planes drops a bomb. Torpedo and bomb go off almost at the same time and the ship is noted as destroyed, but I don't get credit for the kill. Even worse, the ship does not sink. I observe it for a while then decide to surface and finish off the hulk with my deck gun. I don't want the Tommies to salvage the hull.

Those lousy flyboys; steal my kills and steal the frauleins at the night clubs, with their flashy uniforms and eagle's wings. What's a poor sailor to do?

Work harder mister! Floggings, hangings and keel-hauling will continue until all malcontents are eliminated - or we run out of crewmen...

not to long ago the Italian Air Force robbed me. The bottom line is, the supplies headed to Malta didn't make it. Hey we're all on the same team after all.

It's nice when they soften them up first for an easy kill though.
You do get lucky sometimes.

I've also had that happen. Once, a group of JU-88s worked over a convoy, sank a few and damaged a few. On another occasion I was submerged ahead of a single contact and waiting for it to approach. I noticed a drop in its speed and then saw that there were planes attacking it. They reduced its speed to one knot and there was very devastating damage to the bridge and superstructure. It looked quite realistic and I have never seen those damage effects from the game's torpedo or artillery.

I had a Ju 87 stuka do that to me, once.
Hit a Norwegian freighter and was about to line up the finishing shot.
On the surface, when all of a sudden, from out of nowhere, I start to hear a buzzing bee on the approach, then, a low whine which starts getting higher, and swoop, here comes Larry Luftwaffe.
Bugger bagged my kill.
