GenericPatcher issues

HI ALL,

Followed the install instructions, backed up all files.
Patcher updated 9 files... no problems.

I ran Sh5 without any other mods 1.2 version non steam.
When I try to teleport, what I keep geting is a crew promotion screen,
and it also teleports. I have tried every thing to get rid of the promotion screens but no good.

I was running fine until I CTD using the GenericPatcher.
I reload all my backups, but once I have a CTD, the prom screen starts again.
I have tried "sobers TDW_GenericPatcher_v_1_0_168_0 Snapshot 26082016.gps" but still have CTD and promoscrrens.

Very frstrated!!

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hi Joe
Do not understand why the Generic Patcher is causing a ctd?
What makes you think the Generic Patcher is causing you this problem?
When the game loads to the bridge you must go down the ladder before you can use the teleport function.

You cannot use sobers Generic Patcher it has been customized to work with his mega mod only.

You can download a new Generic Patcher from my tutorials.

Peter,
I followed your insrtuctions to a "T".
I re-installed a clean version after doing all unstall/clean steps. v1.2
Re-startd Win10
Ran SH5 to verify all ok
Backed up 9 files
I ran gen genric patcher v168 (made no changes)
tested ..ran ok
I put in my mods (Jsgme that ran fine before)
Now when I ran SH5, (after going down ladder), I tried to use the "teleport"
icon, then it brought up the crew promo screen on every crew icon push.
I reloaded my nine bakup files and removed all mods.. and loaded only basic mods with crew mods
I ran SH5 again same issues.
I uninstaled SH5 as above.
I reinstalled SH5 again.

I used 1 mod; NewUIs_TDC_7_4_2_ByTheDarkWraith
ran but get the same promo screens.

Tried this mod alone "NewUIs_TDC_6_3_7_ByTheDarkWraith" this seems to get rid of the issue. (soo I guess it isn't something I'm doing to cause it.

NOTE: Originally All my mods worked fine at one point until I used the genric patcher. All worked fine as a made 1 change at a time and tested until I CTD.
Thats why I tried Sobers gps.
Maybe we aught to contact the DarkWaith?
Any ideas on my next approach?

The only mod I used is "NewUIs_TDC_7_4_2_ByTheDarkWraith"
or

I HAVE ALSO FOUND OUT THAT THE KEYBORD KEYS DO NOT ALL WORK AS IDENTIFIED USING "f1" KEY SCREEN LAYOUT!

I AM INVESTIGATING THIS NOW.

Switched KB but the issue remains.

Any specific reason why would you rather agonize your self like this instead of actually playing the game with some of the existing and stable megamods for sh5 ?

I tried TWOs and Sobers, but I did not like either.

Just personel preferances I guess.

Mine used to work(3 trs ago) but for some stupid reason, it comes up with the crew promo screens when I try to teleport.

I am about to give up SH5 entirely, unless someone like TDW can think of a reason.
I'm only using 1 mod...

If you have no mods you cannot teleport.
Teleportation only becomes available when a TDW's New UI mod is enabled.
Your problem looks like the 7-4-2 mod has not been correctly installed?

You should be able to install the generic patcher without any mods and it should work ok.
if it does not it is something you are doing or have previously done that is causing you the problem.
The generic patcher is 100% ok.

Here is a gps file I made for 7-4-2
Download the zip file and extract or copy to the generic patcher Snapshot folder.
Disable any existing patches and then select Restore.

As I have previously stated more than once, I have 1 (one) mod.

I did exactly as shown.

The Generic Pather is not an issue at this point. (not loaded)

Would debug mode help in any way?

I can teleport fine, but the crew promo screen will continue to pop up.(as if objects are true for icons)
When I can resolve this, I will use the .gps you have supplied me with.

Hey Vecko,

This is one of the wierdest problems I have had since I owned SH5. I have been running over 100 mods and had the typical errors, mods not in proper or or mod conflicts etc. But this problem won't change one bit no matter what I've tried. I even reloaded windows thinking that this would surely do it, but no go.

OH well,I have to treat the error as another game or I would go bonkers.
