Default My game keeps crashing on May 1st, 1943

I am in the Turning Point Campaign.

I advance my campaigns using the save-and-copy method since the Mama fix does not seem to reliably work for me.

I'm at sea, trying to return to my port. I was initially out of Kiel, shot up my 4 hulk targets for training, and am now en route to La Pollice. But on May 1, 1943, the game crashes every time - I can't get to port.

Any ideas?

Hi mm
Sounds like a Vecko sorting job.
In the meantime I would suggest making a manual game save a distance away behind where your game crashes 100-200km.
Exit the to the desktop and reload the game using your new save.
Be very patient with your TC no more than 8 and you might be able to creep into port this way without a ctd.
If you are crashing with the same gave each time it might be better to delete it and use the one before.

OK I figured it out. There was evidently a too-large-to-render convoy I was hitting. I altered course and went full speed to avoid them and got past the crash spot.

Yeah, that's a common problem on every campaign. Had the same issue around Kiel, a convoy running close to the port and a friendly U-Boat stuck on a wall. Damn AI.

You are talking about two different issues here (1st caused by faulty unit controllers and 2nd by unknown (IR)AI script ) but I am happy to confirm that both of them are solved in TWoS 1.6 ...
