Default Guides on manual targetting SH5 TWOS

Since i cant get the "no map contact" option working, i wonder how do i set up fireing solutions when i cant see my targets on the map? Is there any good guide out there(the ones i found was with targets visible on the map)

Just disable appropriate option in game realism settings and contacts will become visible in your TAI map...

Of course, you should disable real navigation addon too because it's inconsistent with arcade options...

I found this one helpful.

Although you need to read up on how to use the RAOBF as well, since there is only a visual demonstration without explanation in this video.

There is also this one from the same guy, which uses the XO dialogue window a bit. By using this method it is easier to enter your data more precicely to the TDC than using the dials, but I found the XO dialogue window (marking target with space) would sometimes completely mess up the data I had previously entered manually. Especially after first making an observation, then lowering and re-raising the periscope to make a second or third reading at a closer range later on, to avoid being spotted by having the periscope up at all times.

Magjamer, thanks for posting those links! Since being in an accident and having a TBI I find certain tasks a lot more challenging than they used to be. As I'm trying to ween myself back into this sim I'm having trouble with some of these concepts. These vids have helped me a lot, just need to read up on the use of that RAOBF thingy and I might actually have a chance of hitting something! Thanks again.

I had to read up on this post: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...iewer&page=127 to use the TDW Options file viewer to make the changes necessary to see contacts on the map again.
