I had read (somewhere) about Time Motion Analysis.
With all the post that I read on subsim about manual targeting, I decided to try it with hydrophones, in SH3. For the first test, I kept things simple, stock SH3, external camera, show torpedos on map, etc. I raised my scope to get the speed of a single merchant ship. After that, it was all hydrophones. I tried it twice, it worked twice. (that is, I sank the 2 ships I launched torps at.) I have not tried the mod that allows you to determin speed based on rpm, but I haven't had a lot of free time lately. This would introduce some additional difficulty, but as I said I was keeping it simple, just wanted to see if it would work... Anyone else tried a 'passive sonar' only torpedo run in SH3? Barracuda |
