Help: North western approaches mission

I've read soo many topics about this but its still unclear to me, what should i do in this mission?
I suppose tonage isn't important, but then what to do and how to know if i completed mission or not?
Can someone say it loud and clear: how to finish this one?
How long should i patrol this area?
and.. is my ploted course good or not, should i stay in specific grid or just ride along this line? There is mission end datum 01.Mar.1940. - should i patrol this area till that date or what? Please help.. also i sunk 2 ships and this bar doesen't fill up (img)

...i just got another message, it says: "Break patrol operations and proceed to act independently. BDU" ... now what? omg this is so confusing sometimes
