Default Blurry DDS Files

For anyone adding a .dds file to Sh5 I thought I would post the result of my 2 week-long head-banging session where I was trying to make images come out nice and crisp. Some of my charts in game would be blurry but three of them were sharp and I just couldn't figure out why.

My method for this was to take a screenshot in-game, import it into GIMP and crop it to the size I wanted. I found that it had something to do with cropping the image after which it all went awry. Sometimes it would look good, other times no. I eventually discovered that the cropped image must be of an even dimension, ie: Length, Width. But also, it must be rounded up or down to the nearest 10 or 100. The following pic show the two files in DXTBmp with Transparency Preview and how this led me to believe it was the dimension of the crop that was the culprit!

I looked for this solution in this forum but couldn't find anything this specific so thought I might as well share my results.

I still don't know why GIMP acts this way but I don't care - I now have a permanent QWERTY keyboard impression on my forehead.
