[TEC] Torpedos Running in Circles

Hey,

entirely overwhelmed and intimidated newby to SH5 here. Loved subsims since ever, but well getting this game to work is daunting.

Anyway, I use the Generic File patcher 1.0.161.0 with, among others "Fixed Torpedo circle runner chance calculation". Unfortunately, it seems that close to every torpedo is a circle runner for me, especially the electric ones. Some what similar to this here: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=205517

So is this working as intended? There is a filepath mentioned in the "File" category, refering to a *.7z file.

Best Theo

P.S.: There also seem to be an aweful lot of duds. In fact only one torpedo hit with a magnetic detonator, contact fuses have so far been entirely inneffective, despite 90° shots. Ideas?

So what exactly do I need to do here?

I located the zip file. It contains five folders:
  • FX_Update_0_0_22__Stock_Torpedoes (modified for torpedoes failure patches)
  • FX_Update_0_0_22_ByTheDarkWraith
  • FX_Update_0_0_22_Stock_Torpedoes - MagDet range 3m (modified for torpedoes failure patches)
  • FX_Update_0_0_22_Torpedoes - MagDet range 3m (modified for torpedoes failure patches)
  • FX_Update_0_0_22_Torpedoes (modified for torpedoes failure patches)

Do I need to paste all of these to my MOD folder and enable them with JSGME or only one? And if so which one?

Also I am starting to believe I should have unzipped the "All the torpedoes modified for torpedoes failure patches (GenericPatcher add-on).z" file that came with the patcher and enabled it as a mod. Correct? Do I still need to do that, or does one of the above FX Updates fix that?

I am yet to score a hit. All of my torpedos seem to be duds, even at 90° hits in calm weather. And half of the magnetics just explode somewhere. Somehow the hit chances seem to be off.
