Clutching at lifebouys before torpedoing SH5

I'm at the end of my tether with SH5 and really am thinking seriously about sinking SH5 for ever. After countless cleansing of saved games, campaigns, user names, registry entries and complete fresh installs I still can't get this abomination to run in anything over a basic install and minor mods.

Starting from scratch the first hic-cup is the Ubisoft System compatibility check, it's reading the wrong graphic driver update and saying my system is incompatible. I'm running:
Win7 64bit SP1
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600K CPU @ 3.40GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.7GHz 64 bit
NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450 1GB GDDR5 Driver 331.82
RAM 8GB
HDD Barracuda 7200.12 1TB
Ubisoft is saying my driver version is 131.82 and non-compliant .

Secondly I can load using JSGME a mod list as below but as soon as I use TDW GenericPatcher v 1.0.149.0 and the OptionsFileEditorViewer the game CTD as soon as I request Mission orders. Each time I modify anything before restarting the game I clear all saved games, campaigns and users then start a new campaign. Even after disabling all parts of TDW NewUI's 7.5.0 using JSGME the game still crashes before I can get any mission orders.
It's the same trying to use historic missions.
How can I post the generic patcher and File Editor files?

Can anyone help before this game is condemned for causing extreme stress, disappointment and frustration.

Download and extract my MEP file and then go to the mod enabler and click on Tasks/Load mod profile . The mod enabler will tell you what mods you need and then auto load them in the right order .
Download the TDW exe patcher and extract to your desktop . Use my patcher profile you can find in ''sobers New UI addons for mega mod list'' mod . Click on the patcher and then click on restore snapshot . Read the first few posts in my megamod thread . Follow the starting a campaign instructions in my mega mod thread in 1st post . Save often and sink ships .

That's all you do for the patcher .
Now with the mod list , just run the MEP file with the mod enabler and it will tell you what mods you need . Unless the mod enabler says you need one of those files then you don't need them .

Sorry to hear that you are still having problems.

Did you read and try any other suggestion from my signature link, especially post # 3, 6 and 8.

This link
Post #2, and 7-10 dealing with file dates before June 2010 (approxamately) stock, and after June 2010 can be mod leftovers.

Are you getting past the mission orders when TDW generic patcher is NOT installed? If so,TDW patcher Check the patcher thread. Some advanced setting causes some CTDs, possibly some render issues. I can post some pics in the future of my settings. Sjizzle how to use patcher thread at the bottom of post #1 is most current.

If not TDW patcher causing crashes, than possibly check campaigns and campaignprojects folder and subfolders will give you a clue. This is where I discovered my CTDs causing crashes with silentotto.
Win7 64bit SP1

Pictures with the exploded views of what you enabled or not enabled may be easier than explaining by text. A picture is worth a thousand words as the saying goes!

I use the snipping tool included with Windows 7. The tool allows you to size what you want to capture. Post a reply. There is a little text page symbol at the top of your reply to thread which is for attachments, as in pictures.

Thanks for all the advice guys, I'm slowly working my way through it all. SH5 isn't my prime project at the moment as I'm tied up with something else. I haven't torpedoed SH5 yet so it's still afloat but on "Slow Ahead".

I'm trying to follow all the helpful advice that you guys are passing on however, my skills do not go as far as running with TDW Real Nav enabled. What amendments do I have to carry out on the patcher and/or OptionsFileEditorViewer to avoid conflicts regarding the Real Nav mod not being enabled?

Thanks
Ian
