Default Live in New York? York Arms cancels its Police Orders

Quote:
Based on the recent legislation in New York, we are prohibited from selling rifles and receivers to residents of New York. We have chosen to extend that prohibition to all governmental agencies associated with or located within New York.
As a result we have halted sales of rifles, short barreled rifles, short barreled shotguns, machine guns, and silencers to New York governmental agencies.

The gun store down the street might be moving to PA.

Albany you are not just making the citizens angry you are driving out businesses.

Based on its name I was hoping York Arms was local but never the less:
York Arms

What do you mean pathetic?

I actually think they are taking a stand, along with many other gun manufactures.
Manufactures no longer supporting a government that is oppressing the people that elected it.
Infringing on the right of its citizens to bear arms under the 2nd Amendment. Protecting the 2nd Amendment by stopping the supply of arms is their way of saying that there shouldn't be rights between citizens and government employees.
They are defending the US Constitution by making a statement about the importance of the 2nd Amendment.
I think pathetic is the wrong choice of words there.
York Arms has balls. Good on 'em i say.

It's probably more a case of them forcing New York to lift it's gun-control laws so that the manufacturers can get more money from the civilians buying guns. What do you expect from a company?

Default OK OK

Calm everyone!

The 2nd Amendment gives the right to bear arms. All that is "suggested" is a control on the type of arms that permits.

The civil war was the first implementation of citizens taking up arms against the government. A lot of people died. The amendment was not changed.

Now we have people taking up arms against each other. That was not envisioned in the amendment. That is insanity.

An argument ensues on a shopping center parking lot. A gun is pulled and shots fired by person A. Person B draws a gun and fires back. Both men are fine but each one has shot someone else. Further guns are drawn and a wild west gunfight ensues. Everyone exercising their rights.

When the cops do show up, they get into it too. Later on, when the ambulances have left the scene, both person A and B are dead but shot by someone else. Nobody knows who is right or wrong.

Everyone was protecting themselves. Cool

Right because the states of the CSA had no central government that passed legislation or raised armies.

The CSA was the 1st to implement conscription in the war, they implemented an internal passport system, and many would say that President Davis was a despot.

The Civil War was not a war of the Citizens against the Government it was a war of the Government against the Government.

Most of us are being calm, and rational. Your diatribes so far have been reasonably calm, but nothing like rational.

Actually that would be the Revolution itself, and the reason the Second Amendment is there. And you haven't heard of Shay's Rebellion? The Whiskey Rebellion? You need to study your history a little.

Except maybe the time when the Vice President shot and killed the former Secretary of the Treasury with a handgun. Both were armed, and it was by mutual consent. That was way back in 1804. Again you need to look before you leap.

When was the last time that happened in your neighborhood? Making up a hypothetical for emotive reasons is hardly calm, or rational. I've heard of bar fights leading to gunplay, but I've never seen it. And it's been happening since the beginning of the Republic.

OK Corral?

Why don't you try actually arguing your point rather than just talk down to people?

Good on York Arms. It may be just an empty gesture if the other arms makers decide to supply New York.

Run away government unfolding before our eyes. Freedom is just an inch away from anarchy and these power mad politicians are moving it closer with every stupid law they come up with that curtails a mans' freedoms.

Sooner or later they might just figure out that the bill of rights is not to be infringed upon by any state law. They have no legitimate legal base to do this.
