Default flat-top

go through the straits of Gilbrator and the port north as soon as you get through it, wait towards the bottom of the inlet. Fleets come and go out of there about every 4-7 days, normally cruisers, battleships and flat-tops. As soon as your in the port shut your engines down and stay at periscope depth and face Southeast. You'll have constant enemy destroyers around but they wont mess with you. Just hang tight and you'll notice the red lines coming from your sonar detection on the nav map getting closer. If theres about 5 to seven or more, more then likely its a carrier and battleship fleet coming in to resupply. Good luck

You r right ''jimmie1974'' I did what exacly u explained but what about THE SECOND ONE??? I sunk the first one (FLATTOP) which comes with battleships, they keep them in the ring (like a circly) just out of the Gilbrator (SOUTHEAST SIDE) ... After that they keep coming in couple of days but there is no more aircraft carrier in it...
Please help me out of this its been like 4 days in real i am driving crazy still searching for it but there is no more flattop left...

Just hang near Gibraltar, use the external cam to check contacts. That's how I won it.

Waited outside Gibraltar for 2 months of game time, spotted dozens of task groups, but none with the second carrier...

I am sorry to say, there is a fatal error of judgement that Ubisoft made on this game, every carrier has it's own patrol area, and if you sunk that carrier in another mission, it will not be present in the next one, that's why I downloaded open Horizons II, because they don't ask you to sink specific ships. I once sunk ALL of the British battleships in Total Germany, and I could not finish Mare Nostrum.

at 1st sorry for my orrible english!

at 2nd if you wont take the carrier or the BB and can't find it lisen me, i do the same way at the end of tolerance, if you see in the map the red way (supply route) you hear she start at Gibilterra and end at Malta, put your boat at the start way in Gibilterra and armed you whit many many patience because before or after she (carrier or BB) transit in front of you.....
I hope you know what a mean and please sorry me for my disgusting english
