Default A car part question, 4x4

I always wondered but never managed to succesfully Google, whats the steel bar protection mounted on the front of 4x4's called ???

That is strictly a brush guard or grill guard. It is not a push bar.
A push bar has two padded vertical bars placed about 18 inches or half meter apart. The bars are shaped similar to the ones in the picture, but protrude further forward and are padded and built much stronger. A push bar Will not be attached to a brush guard, but a brush guard may be attached to a push bar. It's all due to attachment points, and equipment strength.

okay so it's not a push bar, but it sure would come in handy in a demolition derby or even if push comes to shove
in a wal-mart parking lot lol

You don't need it. Trust me, if a Clio can push away a car infront of a supermarket with it's plastic bumper (and 20km of ducttape) then you don't need fancy brushguards.
