I think she has a legitimate case. It won't be long before she is plying the waters in cruise ships from the millions that will be awarded to her. Excellent!

If she can show that the phobia is real, and show that they did indeed promise her she wouldn't be put in that position, I don't see how she can lose.

At first, I was going to say BS to this, then I saw this:

Quote:
teach in a junior high
I see how she could be tramatized.

ahhh, the truth comes out:
Quote:
The backstory, as described by the Enquirer, goes as follows: Waltherr-Willard taught foreign languages in high school for many years. Several years ago, word got to her that her district was considering putting those classes online, a move that would have had an effect on her position.
Waltherr-Willard apparently spoke to parents about the district's decision to eliminate face-to-face French courses. Parents spoke out, and the district was not amused that one of its teachers was stirring the pot. Waltherr-Willard claims she was sent to teach at junior high as a kind of punishment for speaking out. She eventually resigned her position.
They should sue her behind for abusing the ADA. I'll bet when she's not at school, the phobia magically dissapears.

Then if we had real tort reform and the school could prove her phobia is BS, she'd get stuck with the bill.

When you are phobic of something, you do a confrontation therapy or you do not, it's up to you. But the one thing you do not do is leaving it untreated but embark on a profession that brings you near to the object of your phobia.

when you are phobic of running people, you do not become an atheletes trainer for a club under the premise that you do not need to see and deal with running athletes. If you are phobic to animals with furs, you do not become serviceman in a zoo under the premise that you do not need to deal with those animals having fur.

And if you are phobic to children, then you do not become a school teacher.

All this should have come out when she was doing her student teaching. You have to work with all ages when you are doing your pedagogical classes. I say her phobia is BS and they should throw the case out.

That is how I feel my mother was a teacher and my sister is a teacher neither of them where ever made a promise that they would not be around X type of student. The way I understand it in most school systems need takes priority so they put you where they need you if you don't like where they put you deal with it or find another job.

My mother was an art teacher originally but by the late 70's in Florida this position was not certain so she became an English teacher. My sister teachers in Louisiana she has been moved a few times over the years sometimes to grades shed rather not teach or to a school shed rather not teach at but she wants to keep her job so she grins and bears it.

I think this Ohio teacher is trying to find a way to retire early or something so she makes a bogus claim that they promised her something.Unless you got in writing I say you have nothing. She seems to have "developed" this phobia that is a the funny part to me.

Further more this person was only moved from a high school to junior high so she has no problem with being around a 9th grader but god forbid a one year younger 8th grader yeah right so the phobia cut off is between 14 and 15 She is not even around true young children say 1st graders.

I only wish I had $50 for every time an employer told me what my job responsibilities were, and then added some more.
