Default Crush depth question

Was practicing on one of the GWX missions (night attack on convoy in indian ocen I believe) and I picked the Type 7c/42 sub to play with. After a successful submerged attack on the convoy I was attacked by a corvette. I dove down as far as I could (can't remember the depth) and soon after got the death screen.

My question is does each boat have seperate crush depths, or are they all the same no matter what boat?

Regards...

depends on a number of factors, such as hull integrity. After a good beating I've suffered death by flooding at about 50m before now. I normally never push it past 200m in a type vii. Not sure what the other guys thoughts are on this?

With SH3Commander you can randomize the crush depth for your own U-boat. That way you can't dive deep and think: "I'm safe, because I've been here before with this U-boat type".

I also recommend t hat, although it adds to extra dread when your flooding and slowly sinking and your crew is trying to fix the problems, and your start to hear things Pop and groan.

That reminds me of some very close calls with death in the mid atlantic and north sea.

One time, I was hit by a shell while crash diving and i made it to 295 meters. Everything was popping, breaking, and shattering. I eventually survived, very luckily.

Another time, i was harbor raiding in a type II ( I dont recommend it because of torpedo malfunctions ) and i got hit by a shell. Rough seas and shallow water while a PT Boat is DC'ing you isnt good. The DC shot my stern up out the water at periscope depth. (Only 18 meters here) And a DD gave me a shiny new stern tube. Oil is leaking out and i am sinking. Bad flooding. I recovered from flooding, but more DC's killed me.
