Silent Hunter 5 Help!

well first of all, after numerous episodes of fits of pure rage ive decided that this game sucks ball sacs!! ive been trying to play the campaign for well over a few hours now and i cant seem to get out of the damn harbour, soon as i enter the canal the game crashes to desktop every bloody stinkin time! no errors no nothing just straight to the desktop! so frustrating... i have a few mods enabled to make the game work decently but even with those mods enabled its still crash crash crash ...stupid ubishaft ! i also installed the voice recognition mod (miton) and also that dont work either, doesnt show a microphone to enable it in the game... ive tried everything possible ...im o super frustrated right now that i could burn ubisoft hq to the ground and piss all over the bloody cinders!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !

G'day Niteowl84.

Step one: calm down.

Step two: work out what's going on. Plenty of folks here will help you sort it out.

For the process of elimination it may be best to disable your mods for a while 'till you get the hang of the game.

Have you played through the tutorial yet? It is improtant.

thanks man for replying, yeah im calm now...for now... yeah i've played through the tutorial... ive owned the game now for over a week ..got the hang of the game so to speak ... but im just having so many problems with it... the CTD is really enough to make me wanna toss my computer out the third story window... i've tried so many diff things to get this game to run better, i've only ever made it outside the harbour a few times but this past few days i cant get there... but im open to anything else u guys can suggest ... ive disabled the mods in an attempt to try it out and same thing... so with or without mods it just crashes without warning... im so tired of this game already

What operating system are u useing? system specs? Might be crashing cause your machine is running outa ram, What mods have tried?

If you think it maybe a ram issue try the 3gig switch, worked for me.

hey man thanks for the reply. i checked out what u said...the 3gig switch is enabled already tho...seems to happen when i fast forward time, it takes an eternity to get to point b in this game lol

Some TC tips if you have a good PC

No higher than:-
x16 in Kiel
x64 with lots of ships
x128 in cannal
x128 if risk of aircraft near land
x1500 ish on patrol when you are well away from land

This stops all TC related ctds for me

Remember - this is a slooowww game and takes time

Computer specs?

I had all manner of problems when I started running this game but now, thanks to the help of everyone here it pretty much runs flawlessly. If you take the tame to sort it out it is definately worth it.

awesome tips man ill def give em a run and see how it goes i think that your def on to something there. Im also having trouble with the speech recognition mod, i dunno if u guys trued it or not yet but im highly intrested in it however i installed it as per instructions, popped the mod in mods folder and enabled it with the mod enabler....i tried the 3 dif versions, one is for stock, one is 4.0 and the other is 4.1.0 i believe...none of them seem to work, it said to enable it in the game via the microphone in the top right hand corner of the screen but it doesnt show there....any suggs??
