Default Does this smoke look normal?

I'm running RFB, but the stock game looks the same/worse.

I have particle count set to the max, but everything is quite a bit thin, and I really don't like the polka-dot smoke plumes. It's quite jarring.

Is this normal though? I've seen screenshots with full thick smoke, and others which look like mine. What do you think? Anything I can do about it?

On a slightly related note, I also get pretty bad flickering and texture-fighting when looking at objects at a distance with magnification (through optics). Is there a fix for that? It's even more infuriating than the smoke.

Try increasing the particle density (if you didn't already) to max. If you already did, get a good graphics mod (say, PE4). That will sort things out.

I know its almost a month Old, But I had the same problem with a Nvidia graphics card on my laptop, you have to play around with the Anisotropic, antialiasing, and texture filtering. For your flickering try forcing vertical sync on or off, strangely enough I had worse flickering with 312WHQL drivers WITH Vsync.

If none of that fixes it, try updating to beta drivers (I am currently using those on a Geforce GT 650M and it works great (im also using a GTX 260 and it works well also.)

Thanks for the replies. I'll keep fiddling with it.

Even on my rig that doesn't happen... maybe your particle density is too high?

What doesn't happen on your rig? Flickering? Spotty smoke?
